Obadiah’s Story

Welcome to our CaringBridge site. We've created it to keep friends and family updated. We appreciate your prayers and support and words of hope and encouragement during this time when it matters most.

On June 12, I went to the doctor to find out why I had been having pain in my hip. The doctor felt something in my abdomen and I had to have a CT scan. They found a tumor. Two days later I had surgery but they couldn't take out the tumor. They told me I have neuroblastoma cancer. I had other tests and they said the cancer was only in the tumor. I have to have a lot of chemotherapy and surgery and radiation and other stuff too. Thanks for praying for me.

Still Remembered

If you watched the half-time show at the Badgers game this past Saturday, you may seen Heidi marching with Obi's name on her sash. The UW Marching Band and the UW Carbone Cancer Center joined together to have a Band Together to Beat Cancer program. When asking our permission Heidi said, "I know that God has used Obi in tremendous ways to spread His Word and I would like to honor him by wearing his name on the sash." We are honored Heidi wore Obi's name. Heidi worshiped with us at First Lutheran while staying in the La Crosse area this past year. Thank you Heidi. And she is right, Obi has touched so many lives, more than we even know.

I totally agree with the person who said that Heidi got the honor of wearing Obi's ribbon. Obi is being honored even more than we can imagine by being in the presence of our living Lord.

My thoughts and prayer continue for you and your families and dear friends, Chris and Liz!!

Indeed Chris! When my mom purchased his Kleenex boxes in Menomonie, she called right away to tell me it took her over an hour to leave the store, many strangers approached her, asking her if she new Obi, they had heard about him and his story, as a result strengthened in faith. Imagine that, well outside our community, Obi touched many lives and brought people closer to God. Just think of how many people will be thanking Obi when they get to Heaven.
