Graduation has come and gone...the next step will be the University of MN in the twin cities in the fall...much too far away for Mom, but Nolan is so ready for the next chapter in his life!!!
We had an open house for Nolan last weekend and it was a wonderful day - one of the few sunny days we have experienced all summer!! It was a whirlwind day with many, many well wishers - over 270.
Commencement ceremonies were on Sunday and Nolan was one of the first to receive his diploma - not only because our last name starts with an "A", but because he graduated with highest academic honors and picked up another scholarship or two along the way.
As promised, I am going to upload pics from graduation and from the open house.
This coming week Nolan and I travel to Grand Forks for a follow up with his orthopedic surgeon regarding his rib fracture and then see an opthamologist for a visual field test. In July Dr. Tebben is going to run another blood test to check his IGF levels. If all keeps going as it has, we don't have to return to Rochester until December.
The wonderful nurses here in town are going to help set up Nolan's monthly sandostatin shots for us down in the cities.
While school is done for the year, Nolan has not slowed down one bit. Three mornings a week he is running a four-on-four camp for next year's Bantam team, followed by a weightroom regimin, followed by 4:00 practice (or games) for the Babe Ruth baseball team in town (13-14 year olds). Coaching is definitely in his blood!!!
We are anxiously awaiting a visit from Gavin later this month as he will have a two week R & R from Iraq and will spend the second week in MN. The first week goes to his girlfriend in Pennslyvania and we are hoping she will accompany him back to MN!!!
Thank you Nolan fans for continuing to check in and pray for our boy. Those prayers are being felt and being heard!!!! Enjoy your summer and I will try update after appointments next week - Pam:)
