My Story

Thanks for visiting Noah at his Caring Bridge site! Please sign his guestbook so we can read him his messages! When Noah was diagnosed with kidney cancer in December of 2006, the outpouring of support was so great that we created this page to keep everyone up to date on his illness.  Noah finished his treatment in August 2007 and is doing great!

Noah had scans and tests on Friday and he is doing wonderful!  At the end of July it will be two years since he finished treatment.  At our next appointment, we will have a CT scan and an abdominal ultrasound, and then we are switching to ultrasounds every six months to reduce the amount of radiation Noah is exposed to.

A young doctor who was following Dr Greffe around performed Noah's exam Friday.  Later, we rode down the elevator with the doctor and he told us Dr Greffe had cured his own childhood cancer.  Neat!

Griffin visited the neurology clinic while we were there and checked out fine.  They increased his medicine just a touch.

Noah drank his contrast for the first time in ages and he let them put in his IV without any trouble.  We took him to the toy store as a reward.  He chose a RC Motorcycle.  When we got home and tried it, it was THE WORST TOY EVER and it doesn't do anything right.  Poor Noah!  We don't have a toy store within two hours, so I don't  know when we'll get to exchange it.  Some reward.

Noah and Mathew started a garden yesterday.  Noah has his own space and he is growing broccoli and cauliflower, celery, tomatoes and chocolate mint.   Today is his ballet recital.  I hope it goes better than rehersal yesterday, when all the little ones forgot the dance and one child burst into tears.  I'll try to post a picture of the ballet when it's over.
