Just had my first appointment with the radiologist, now I have a game plan. The doctor's name is Dr. van Rooy- he's dutch and has the same sort of personality as Dr. Silver, my oncologist, so I feel very comfortable which is a good thing. Today's appointment was to figure out how long I would be doing radiation and to "map out" exactally where the radiation will be directed. That was pretty interesting. They have a pillow form that the put you on in the position they will want for doing the radiation and they suck all the air out so it forms to the poistion. That way they can make sure you are in exactally the same position every time you go. They also gave me a card that I scan after they park my car for me that tells them I am there for my apoointment. I will be going Monday through Friday for 4 weeks. Side affects should be minimal and needless to say I am happy about that. I am glad that I'm getting closer to getting the process started for sure. And I will try to update so that my firends and family will know whats happening. And now, back to work!
