Nick is settling back into things, not that he has any choice in the matter. He is in the room next door and couldn't understand why they could not just hold his same room for him. We still have the great view of downtown Minneapolis so its all good. He is on pretty much the same course as last time only the drug called Cyturabine he has for 8 days instead of 10. Daunorubicin he gets on days 1,3, and 5, Nick calls this one the red chemo. Then he is on Etoposide which he gets day 1-5, followed by 3 weeks recovery prior to the next course of therapy. It is in hopes that if his counts are going up that he can go home the last week of the 3 week recovery time. Nick's lips started to swell this morning so the doctor thinks he may have an allergic reaction to the Cytarabine, so they are trying to head it off by giving him some steroids. That allergic reaction could have also caused the mouth sores to be as bad as they were, so hopefully the steroids will work. Nick received a care package from the RED WINGS today. Among the goodies in there were a signed puck and picture of his favorite player Nicklas Lidstrom. Speaking of the RED WINGS we are watching it right now, and it is a really good game!
