Happy July 4th to all of our family and friends!!
We hope that you are all able to enjoy the holiday weekend with family and friends!!
Nathan, Brian, and I made our road trip out west this week. We took our time through South Dakota, since we weren't on a serious time clock and made a stop to see the world famous Corn Palace in Mitchell, South Dakota. (Yes, we did find it a bit interesting that they actually recreate that EVERY year?!) Then we took a detour to Deadwood, South Dakota. Deadwood is a very authentic old mining town- now turned into a gamblers paradise and serious tourist trap. We had fun sightseeing the town and enjoying the beautiful scenery driving through the mountains. We dropped Brian off in Buffalo, Wyoming to spend time with his friend from school, Evan. Then Nathan and I proceeded on to Gold Creek, Montana to drop him off at Camp Mak-A-Dream. I'm hanging out in Missoula until early Tuesday morning, when I will start the drive east on I90 again, picking up the two boys along the way.
Not too surprising cell reception has been terrible and there aren't too many places that have wireless to check email. But other than that- Missoula has been really neat!! I'm actually staying on the University of Montana- Missoula campus this week. That has been interesting, as I did not expect such diversity in Missoula. There is an African delegation at the U this week, as well as a lot of other visitors, which has been a neat experience. The weather out here has been hot- heat index in the 90's each day. But I've been taking advantage of the early mornings to get out and bike around Missoula sightseeing. It's amazing how many community events they host in Missoula. So far, there has been something happening everyday! Saturday mornings they apparently have a huge farmers market and art & craft fair from 9-12:00. So, you know where I'll be! Today I spent the afternoon driving through the mountains and taking photographs, which was absolutely beautiful. Although, I can't wait to pick up the boys and hear about their adventures! Even more, can't wait to get home again!!
Sending lots of love and blessings to all of you for a safe and fun July 4th celebration!! ~Pam & family
