My Story

If children have the ability to ignore all odds and percentages, then maybe we can all learn from them. When you think about it, what other choice is there but to hope? We have two options, medically and emotionally: give up, or fight like hell.

Jesus said, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these. Matthew 19:14

Children are so special, sometimes we don't even see the little things that make them so.  It has been an honor for Paul and I to be parents to Nathan, to see all the little things.  The way it felt to hear him say "I wuv you mama and dada."  I can tell you that we waited a long time to hear that since he was so sick at diagnosis and a year there after.  To except the challenges that life has to offer and see that Nathan took it as a normal life and moved with it, he never once complained.  Yes he was sick many times for many months, but he always smiled at least once during a day.  He is such a Warrior, honestly more than I ever knew.  Nathan has taught me so much that each day I can sit back and say Nathan taught me this, or I learned that with Nathan.  How precious is that?  Life is all about taking a ride....live and learn and just keep going!

Today we are in clinic, Nathan just had his labs drawn and now we are waiting on Platelets and Red Blood Cells, his Hemoglobin was 7.6 and his platelets were 28.  Monday we also came to clinic and Nathan didn't even need platelets!!!  He is doing okay, he isn't really in a great mood, very moody to be exact but that is okay, it is his steroid.  He has been very content, eating his burger buns from McDonalds and tortillas.  He hasn't been sleeping that well at night, his Pain medicine isn't even helping at all.  He is not in pain, but at the same time not sleeping well enough to get adequate rest.  Toree is doing well, she has been back and forth everywhere, momo's, yaya's, home, and everything else.  She is great though, her and Nathan are just giving kisses 24/7.  So we are happy to be going back home today, hoping to enjoy our July 4th celebrations.  We pray that Nathan stays as comfortable as possible during this  time.

We are more than grateful for everything that everyone has done for us, we love all thewonderful cards in the mail, they lift us up on our difficult days.  The meals, thank you, I have to be honest, I do not have the energy to cook at this time, so thank you for them.  And the phone calls, texts, we appreciate everything.  The prayers are heard, our dear Lord is taking great care of us and we know that He has a special plan for our "Wee Warrior!"

A BIG THANK YOU to the Cole's Foundation for adding Nathan and our family as the Featured Family.....we are so grateful!  Thank you for all the prayers, love, adn support, what an AMAZING foundation!!!

Much Love and FROG
