Hello Family,
As you can see it has been a while since we updated. So I will apologize ahead of time if I write too much. I updated the pictures on the photo section and added some old pictures from 2006-2007. When I see the old pictures one word in particular comes to mind...Miracle! We witnessed a miracle from God when he healed our Nathaniel. That is just one of many miracles God has given us, this one is just very obvious and hard to mistake as anything less than that...a miracle.
The past few months have been just wonderful for Team LUebke. To see our kids grow up so fast and be a family means more than I can say. Nathaniel likes to keep us on our toes as always, like early December when his ANC (absolute neutrophil count) which is a number that sort of rates how strong the immune system is, that number was very low. Doctors at Childrens thought maybe it was just because he has been fighting virus after virus and that his immune system is just plain tired. I don't know if it is just the time of year, or what but I was, sad to say...freaking out! I knew I should not have been, but I was. Kevin and I tried our very best not to show our worries to the kids because they both do not need to or like to see us down. Anyway, I had a sense of calmness come over me the next day after the appointment. It was because of something Madison, of all people, said to me. She had woken up from her nap and told me that Nathaniel was still sleeping. She said in a very adult like manner, "Mom, Nathaniel is still sleeping because he needs his rest." I said, "Awww Madison, that is so sweet. Nathaniel loves you Madison and you love Nathaniel." To that her response was, "Well, yeah...he is my brother...and he is NOT sick." She said it so matter of factly, and I didn't know why she would have said that, but to me it honestly felt like God was speaking through her and letting me know...Nathaniel will be just fine...again. I was at ease.
Labs were ordered two weeks after the appointment to see where he was at. It was another Christmas gift when we got the call and learned that the lab results looked great and that the ANC was going back up.
Christmas was extra special this year. We spent Christmas Eve with both sets of parents. We all attended Nathaniel's Christmas Eve service where he made us so proud. He had to sing in both services that night and during the first service his classmate fell asleep on his shoulder. It was priceless to see, and Nathaniel's comment to all of it was..."I didn't want him to get a sore neck." At least his teacher didn't have to worry about Nathaniel sitting still in that service. ha ha.
We opened gifts that night with the grandparents. It was so special and so great to be together with everyone again. It was just like the Christmas we remember where we were all together again. Madison and Nathaniel have awesome cousins, and that was so neat to watch them play together again. The kids had a blast.
From our family to yours, we pray for a great new year. Thanks again to all of you for making the miracle happen for Team Luebke.
With all of our love,
TEAM LUEBKE
