Here's a new post from Nancy that I copied from the ol' Guestbook, just in case you don't get to check it as often as I do. I've also posted some of the latest pictures that capture some of this hard work that Nancy references.
Thanks for the update, Nance! Enjoy!
Hey All
Happy Summer to everyone!! I am so sorry its been a while since I have updated everyone. The Buchoz family has been blessed with many fun events and surprises as we keep enduring this journey of rehabbing our sweet Natalie. We've been to alot of softball games including our favorite teams Edison and UCLA. We also cheered our Charger boys on to CIF finals and had alot of fun watching them kick butt all the way to Anaheim stadium. ( where they kicked butt but fell a little short, but so what they are AWESOME!!!!!!!)
We are so proud of all our friends who played ball this past season. It was inspiring for us to watch them do so well.
We also had a the chance to attend our friend Hal Hargraves foundation " Be Perfect "2nd annual fundraiser. Hal also attends Project Walk and is currently rehabbing a auto accident he sustained roughly the same time Nat was injured. What a guy Hal is. Check out the "Be Perfect" website to see what we mean. His foundation raised over $250,000.00 for victims of Spinal Cord Injury. He is one of our favorite "teammates" at Project Walk. It was an honor to be at his event.
Lets talk about Project Walk now. Well... we are kicking butt!! Natalie is working on her core strength and her ability to lift her legs and move independently is becoming stronger and stronger. I am confident that if we continue on with this therapy strategy we will keep getting better and stronger. Natalie works daily on standing, stretching, and reaching outside of her comfort zone to get better.
She is also much more SOCIAL... kinda like old times for Tad and I. She is on the move more than ever. We are grateful for Joshua her best friend and boyfriend. Also Rachel, Nicole , Katie, Ericka, Jennifer, Kendall, Kayln to name a few of the regulars who " steal" Natalie to go to the movies or shopping or to BJ's, or to just hang out in Nat's lil suite at the house.
So life is moving on.... we keep fighting the fight one day at a time and continue to be inspired and awed by all of you who constantly check in and support us and Nat. We still find it challenging but we are very encouraged and blessed to have such constant sources of optimism in the community and our friends and neighbors, ( whom we love dearly). So thank you again and again for your kindness, love, and support. We could never do this without you all.
Lastly, I don't want to forget EHS. Rick and Jill our teachers. All the groups at EHS, the staff, and students who cheer on Nat everytime we set foot on campus. Thank you for your support too. Next year we look forward to Nat returning to Edison in the latter part of the year to finish her senior year out on campus with her friends. Enjoy your summer friends.. we will keep you posted on the new breakthroughs as they come.
Love
Nancy & Tad
