Hungry and Hyper...
Two words that best describe Natalie at the time I am writing this. Here I sit, 1:40am EST, and she is up and about and eating like a machine. The increased dosages of the Predinsone steriods are more noticeable this time around for her chemotherapy treatments.
Quite the busy time around Natalie has had. After we all recovered from Natalie's blood infection and her brother's bout with swine flu, things have finally calmed down.
Natalie has had a busy summer season already. She got to spend a nice time down at the shore over Father's Day weekend with Dad and Ethan, and had some good times home at the local pool with her mother.
Natalie and Ethan went together to Hershey for Nat's treatments, with her Mom this time around. Chemo went great and Natalie started on the Prednisone again as always for five days.
Down at the shore we got to visit the Cape May Zoo, the Wildwood Boardwalk and also make it to Stone Harbor beach. We thankfully managed to avoid most of the rain and had a great time.
Natalie got to finish up this weekend with a special outing with our THON adoptees, Penn State Berks Campus, and also our partnered family the Swopes, for a speical night out at the Lehigh Valley Iron Pigs baseball game. We didn't realize the Iron Pigs are another minor-league team affiliated with the Philadelphia Phillies (who actually have 6 teams they are affiliated with). We had a nice buffet dinner in the picnic area, got to play at the play ground in the park, watch the Iron Pigs win 5-0 and have a nice fireworks display after wards.
Natalie and Ethan also got to spend time with our friends from Penn State and the Swopes family and it was a nice night. Jason swope and his father Frank also got to go onto the field and throw out a pitch before the game started.
It was such a fun night and truly a very nice ball park as well. We capped off the weekend with a day at the pool and Natalie playing with more friends and sporting a special bathing suit she had gotten as a gift.
