September 24, 2007 Today, nine years ago, we received a very special gift in the form of our beloved Naomi. As we celebrate her birthday, we are grateful for all that she did to enrich our lives and also those of the many who knew her. Thanks to some special messages received lately, we know she is very happy for herself, and also blissfully happy for us, and the path we are taking. As well, Naomi inspired us to take a more active role in child-focused volunteerism. It was no coincidence that today, on her birthday, our dojo held the first Karate outreach class for some young children in the community. These children might not otherwise have had the chance to reap the benefits of studying a martial art, while having fun at the same time. Naomi was one of the fortunate ones who did benefit, and thanks to her and the dojo, we can ensure others can be lucky too. We love her and miss her deeply, but she is never far from us.
