'Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.'

--Proverbs 3:5-6

On Dec. 12, Nancy was diagnosed with stage IV cervical cancer that had spread to both lungs. She went home to be with the Lord on Jan. 5.

Hello again, friends and family. We all wanted to let you know how much your words of support and love have meant to us, not to mention your many fervent prayers for Mom and our family. They are very special to all of us as we start into the next chapter of this journey and begin to adjust to life without Mom. Especially for Dad, I think it will be not so much a matter of 'getting back to normal' but beginning to redefine the concept of normal with the changing elements of life. He spent a few weeks with Matt and I here in Wake Forest, where he was able to be together with Jason, Alisa, Evan, and our other family members often. Now he is back in Orlando, and we are planning to go visit within the next month or so to help him organize the house.

We would love to keep in touch with you all. Please feel free to visit Jason, Alisa, and Evan at their family blog:

jasonandalisadean.blogspot.com

and Matt and I at ours:

thebroglis.blogspot.com

Dad intends to start a blog as well, but we haven't finished setting it up. Both our blogs above will have links to it when it's done, so that you can click over to it. We welcome emails with any pictures or memories of Mom that you would like to share or to say hello!

It's easy for us to assume that many of you that have been reading this blog and know Mom and Dad also know our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. We don't want to make that assumption, because it's important to all of us that you know that He is the only reason we have any hope at all in dealing with such a tragic and heartbreaking thing as losing Mom. He is a caring and loving God, which is easy to lose sight of when faced with earthly tragedy, but we know that he has a plan and a purpose even for the most difficult circumstances in our lives. If you don't have a personal relationship with and belief in Jesus, it's never too late to get to know him. He wants to get to know you! I speak for all of us (Dad, Matt and I, and Jason and Alisa) that we would love to introduce you to him. We are all only an email away if you have any questions or want to know more about why we've been able to have such hope.

And, in closing, thank you all again for everything you have done for us, and the sincere friendship, prayers, and practical help you have provided. Take care!
