Kris, I enjoyed reading your update and appreciate hearing from you. I have Sam's photo in my bible and think about him often especially when I have bible study. We don't have a church anymore since MHT closed. We're floating but hoping to find a church youth group for Owen. I would love to see him go to Castaway. Hopefully by the fall we'll have our ducks in a row. We no longer have a "Honduras Mission" either but hoping to hang onto what we can. I'm happy to hear that Terry & Josh are going to Guatemala. Stay in touch!

Kris, Terry, Amanda, Josh,

It was good to read another family update, Kris...thank you so much for keeping us up on your family news. We always pause for a moment when we see the signs for Sam's memorial game coming up around Buffalo. He was such a great kid, and the game brings back so many good memories for us. Unfortunately, Dan and I will not be able to attend the game this year, but Tony is coming home from college so he can be there. He still brings up the stories of fun times playing baseball with Sam...Sam was such a good example for the younger players.

We wish you all good health, and ongoing friendship.

Love, Mary and Dan

Dear Terry & Kris....

For some reason tonight with extra time on my hands (a rare thing), I found myself on Terry's FB site checking up on you guys & your ministry. Although we have not lived close in over 20+ years, we think of you often & have always prayed for you.  It was there that I came to realize the life changing tragedy you have gone through these past few years.  I found this caringbridge site and just spent the past two hours reading all your journal entries (and crying with you).

In so very many ways we have lived "parralel lives" in our lifetime service to the Lord & with teenagers and as I read your posts I felt so very close to you & your family.

I am so truly sorry for the loss of your precious son, Sam. Although in our 20 years of raising our children we have had some "close calls" with death, I cannot imagine having to walk down the path you have been allowed to walk.  I know the Lord has, is & will continue to use it for His glory....yet that does not make it easier or even ok. I grieve (in a small way compared to your grief) with you all.  And as a mother Kris....I just want to reach out - hug you & cry with you.

When Dan gets up in the morning I will share your story & I am sure we will join hands together and pray for you.  Know that if there is ever anything we can do for you....we would do everything in our power to help you.

Thank you for your steadfast love for our Lord, your faithful commitment to one another & to His service, your heart for young people and your amazing testimony!

With love,

Dan & Beth Lambdin

You are still in our prayers daily, Kris, but it's always good to read an update. Thank you for that.

There is an inexpensive gadget for TV watching that will magnify sound for you but allow others in the room to have the set tuned in at normal sound range. You can get them at Bed, Bath & Beyond or http://www.bedbathandbeyond.com/product.asp?order_num=-1&SKU=16330574.

Also, I'm sure your neurologist is aware of MINCEP but you may not be. They are seizure experts. We've had personal experience with this wonderful group of people. Their link is http://www.mincep.com/.

Continue to heal and we'll continue to pray.

With love,

Kris and Terry,

As we celebrate Christmas this year, we also remember Sam and selfishly wish he was here to celebrate Christmas with you, too. We know you carry him deep in your hearts..... and always will.....and we are certain we will see him again someday. Until then, we offer to you prayers of healing, love and friendship.

Merry Christmas,
Mary and Dan

Kris,

Thank you for your insightful and candid words.  You have gone through so much, are still going through a lot, but your faith in our precious Jesus has inspired so many, including me.  I love your honest statements about not understanding God but still trusting Him.  Thanks for your reminder also of our final goal - to be in glory with our Saviour forever!  It is an honor to teach Josh piano and to call all of you friends.  Love You!
Merry Christmas!
