Over the last year a alot of Caring Bridge readers have said "Morgan, you really should get your journal published!" While reading over her humorous accounts I can see how all her witty words and spunky spirit could uplift someone else going through this nasty Hodgkin's. Two wondeful people are looking into the possibilty of this coming true. I don't know how many people would be interested in buying it, but since I am still struggling for the good reason Morgan died, I can see this as some consolation where she would be brightening someone's day and showing them that her faith in God can get you through no matter what the outcome. I will keep you posted on what happens, I don't want to get too hopeful.
Matina, yes, most of all Morgan didn't like celery in her food. It couldn't be too crunchy or too soggy! What fun I had raising her to eat everything - except liver, of course! No one in their right mind eats liver- sorry Curt! I guess I can't fault her too much, I hate bones in my fish.. Makes me gag! Dad wasn't the best at filleting the fish he caught. OK, I am digressing.
The seeds have been put in tiny little pots and have sprouted their heads through the dirt. We have 5 different kinds of lettuce, 2 kinds of cucumbers, 5 peppers, 2 squash, 2 carrots, 2 onions, 4 tomatoes, 2 kinds of peas, beans, kohlrobi ( Tracy maybe we will get some this year), corn, radishes, watermelon, cantalope, pumpkins and I'm sure I have forgotten other things. Then of course there are the flowers and the herbs. It is either going to be a huge success or one big flop.. She wanted to be able to take a tomato plant to families at our church so there are 36 plants busy growing in our spare bedroom under grow lights.
People that have lost their children or parents say the first year is the worst. There are so many days that you have special memories . Yesterday would have been Morgan's second birthday, the date of her first transplant. And also we would have just passed her 100 days from her second tranplant and she could have come home, if things had been as we hoped.. She would have been on steroids which made her so hungry the last time We benefited from her creative cooking. I think all of us gained weight right along with her. Bagels, pizza, salsa, stir fry, and banana bread. Do you think they have ovens up in heaven- no, I'm thinking they don't have time to eat because they are praising God and talking with all those that have gone before us. Well, thanks for listening and keep looking to the skies. Love Darlene
