My Story

The majority of my life I have struggled with Anorexia. When I was 17 years old I almost died from a heart attack caused by my eating disorder. I was fortunate to go to a residental treatment program, Renfrew. It changed my life. Recovery has been a bumpy ride for me. I am trying to learn how to have a real life not consumed by anorexia.

Hey there! I haven't written in months because I have been so busy. Busy in a good way. This fall flew by so quickly and I am still in disbelief that Christmas is over and it was over a month ago! haha!

I really needed to take a break from all online sources related to anorexia. I have been so into all things eating disordered for so long. It helped to go through this break and redirect my focus. Now I am feeling much more grounded and strong. So four months later, I have decided to come back and update some things. First, how I am doing!

My life is pretty normal right now... and that is different and so nice! I have a job I love. Adopted a kitten who is my child. My boyfriend and I are doing great. I have made several new friends who are good people and influence. I have been able to let go of the past once and for all. There really isn't anything negative I can say. I am healthy physically and have my sanity!

Right now, I am working with two local colleges for ED Awareness week. (Feb. 22-29, 2009) I am really looking forward to it! Not sure what we are going to put together yet but will know more after a meeting this week.

My boyfriend is going to be gone for the next 30 days so I think its a good time to update and maybe add some stuff to my site. So, check back in the next few weeks!
