Mike is my 26 year-old brother. He is a third year law student at William Mitchell and a graduate of Simley High School class of 1999 & UW-Eau Claire.

Mike was diagnosed on 5-23-07 with bone cancer-Osteosarcoma. Mike thought he had sprained his wrist and went to the doctor on 5-21-07 for an XRAY. The XRAY showed that Mike did not have a break or a sprain, but rather a mass which they believed to be cancer. Mike had an appointment two days later with a doctor who ended up confirming our fears. At this time, they conducted a bone scan. The bone scan indicated the cancer, thankfully, was not on any of his other bones. Mike then went in on Friday( 5-25) and had a CT scan and MRI to see if the cancer had spread to any other parts of his body through the blood stream. We found out after a LONG Memorial Weekend that the cancer had not spread...It remained localized! We are all so grateful and thank God daily for this wonderful piece of news. Mike is extremely positive and in good spirits. He is anxious to start the process of recovery & we are more than ready to be by his side every step of the way. He had a surgical biopsy on Wednesday, followed by some tests to make sure his body is ready to withstand the chemotherapy. The plan is to start him with three months of chemotherapy, followed by surgery to remove the tumor and followed again by an additional six months of chemotherapy. Mike is recieving his treatment at the University of Minnesota-Fairview. Within the next couple of months we will be planning a benefit for Michael and will post specifics as it becomes finalized. A benefit account has been set up at all Bremer Banks to assist with his ongoing medical and living expenses. Mike's address is: 6522 Dawn Way, Inver Grove Heights, MN 55076.

We thank you all for your constant support and prayers.
