My mom paid over 100$ on sunday I am going to get them.I had fun at camp!camp rocks!I love camp! Have you ever been to camp before? What did you do at camp? It was hot at camp.
The above was from Mikayla....at the beginning she was refering to our evening...I took the girls to the eye doctor today and guess what? Mikayla needs glasses! I was trying to convey to her that she would need to be careful with them and try not to break them, etc. She goes how much do they cost? My answer - a lot! Anyways at the end she asked the lady how much they were...around $200...you should have seen the look on Mikayla's face! So now that is the only thing she remembers is how much they are costing. Hope she remembers that when she is wearing them and taking care of them!
As you can also tell, the girls had a blast at camp. They came home with 3x the amount of stuff I sent them with. And the food - it sounds like it was Club Med all week. Bandidos, IHOP, Coney Island, McDonalds, Casas (yes Casa's!) Pizza Hut, and I'm sure more all donated food and brought in food for the week. Not just hotdogs for our campers - no they had Coney Island hot dogs! I have laughed and joked about the food all week, but like I told Chris - what restaurant or person would say "no" if they were asked to donate for a camp for kids with cancer? They had 100 campers there this year which is the most they have ever had. Awesome and sad all at the same time.
Tomorrow we go for a hearing check and also to meet with the doctor who will be taking her port out. Hoping to be able to schedule it for sometime this summer yet.
The girls are leaving again on Sunday for church camp for one week. Needless to say we have had one busy summer. I have to be honest it was a wonderful break that Chris & I needed. I know that sounds horrible, but to go just one day without being yelled at let alone 5 days was a blessing. Today her meltdown was over salt. Yes, salt as in there wasn't enough salt on her food. She tends to dump the whole shaker on there (and still eat it) so we try to watch it and limit it. While most kids would probably grumble for a bit, Mikayla turns it into a 45 minute screaming fit. Other than that I would say today was a good day.
Hoping for good news tomorrow at both appointments. Should get her glassess by the end of the week. Hope you all have a blessed week. If you eat at any of the above mentioned restaurants be sure to thank them for their donations to camp!- Sasha
