It has been just over a month since Mickey's release from the hospital. He is home with his family and learning to adjust to the changes and physical limitations. It is great to watch him with his sons. He is a very kind and gentle papa. He has been using his art to help with his emotional and spiritual healing. He is still on a lot of medications to decrease pain and to assist with the blod clots that he developed from being hospitalized and immobilized for such a long period of time. Currently this is the most important health issue for use to keep a diligent eye on. He is working with a pain management team through the hospital to slowly decrease his opiate requirement for pain management and to keep him from developing a physiological dependency on these medications. His medical team has been extremely impressed with his healing and positive attitude. He is working hard to regain his strength and mobility in his right arm. His extensive skin graft is a daily reminder of the gift of life. In time he will find a way to adorn this new physical addition. We would like to send a huge thank you to all of our friends, family and those around the country that have sent us their positive thoughts and prayers. You are a big part of his healing. Please keep him in your thoughts while he continues down the road to a full recovery!
