Hi folks,
Time again for another update, or should I say, another GREAT update? November 15th marked 3 years since Michael’s MOAS (Mother Of All Surgeries). This meant another round of tumor markers and a new CT scan for Michael. The tumor markers gave us great news, as all were stable. YIPPEE!!! But a few days later we were given a bit of a scare when a local radiologist misread Michael’s CT and we received a phone call telling us he had a new tumor (i.e. recurrence). There is no way to communicate the turmoil that erupts when you are told this, so I will leave it at that. The good news is that he was completely wrong. There was no new tumor. We overnighted the CT scan to Dr. Loggie and he confirmed all was well. Then we had a nice “house call” with Dr. Loggie. He was in the Puget Sound at Madigan Hospital/Ft. Lewis, so he brought his computer and the CT scan CD to the beach house and went over it with us. Then Michael, Dr. Loggie and I celebrated with dinner at our favorite Olympia restaurant. How great is that?
We also had the pleasure of an evening with Dr. Loggie at the home of one of his patients from Ft. Lewis. Thanks Jeff & Christine for a wonderful evening in your cozy home!
So now we will continue to live our lives by following my favorite motto:
"Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out and loudly proclaiming--
WOW! What a ride!"
Merry Christmas, Happy Chanukah, Feliz Navidad, Happy Kwanzaa, and more!
