Wow how time has been flying!!! I apologize to everyone for taking so long to send another message out there. But hopefully most of you are like me to think that no news is good news!!! And that is true. Mia has been doing WONDERFUL. She was so excited to go back to school with her teacher Mrs. Konzelman and all her friends from last year. Her health has been good, so she has not missed much school (just on the days that she goes up to clinic). Speaking of the clinic, Mia has reached an important milestone in her treatment. She is now in her final stage called Maintenance. Mia only has to go to Children's once a month, and will continue this until the end (July 2010)!! She is very glad to not have to go every week, but she says that she misses all her nurse friends up there. Adam and I are so proud about how strong she has been through everything. Her resiliency is amazing!! A few weeks ago, before she started maintenance, she had prepared herself for a spinal tap and was accepting it very well. We came to find out that her counts were too low to have the spinal tap done, and she was a little upset that she would not be having it done. It is amazing how the big things don't seem to bother her at all! Mia has also been planning for her Wish from the Make a Wish Foundation. The Wish granters came to our house a couple of weeks ago to talk to Mia about anything that she wished for. They gave her all sorts of ideas, but of course all she wanted to do was to see the princesses in Disney World!! We will either be going over Christmas Break or Easter Break!! She is so excited!!! Thank you to all of you who have gotten our family to this point in Mia's Treatment. We could have never made it without all your support. You are the rock that held us in place so that we did not fall apart. THANK YOU!!!! Love always, Adam, Katie, and Mia "With a little love and luck we will get by" Anyone interested in helping support the Make A Wish foundation please go to www.macys.com/believe. They are holding a free fundraising event through the Holiday season where kids write letters to Santa and Macys donates money to the charity. If you have some time check it out!!
