As of today, Mia has been on the Berlin Heart - Ventricular Assist Device for 64 days. She is the longest on record at UVA Hospital and is way above the national average for an infant...knock on wood.

Today was one of her better days since the stroke three weeks ago. See video links below...

Yesterday, she either cried the entire time she was awake or she was asleep. We notice she is more alert now and is crying because she wants to be held or needed some love. Also, she wants mom to nurse her, but is having a hard time keeping it down and ends up vomiting, which ends up making her cry more. It's almost like she is trying to tell us something or maybe that she is teething. She is so precious and we love her so much... We just wish there is more we can do to soothe her. Sometimes mom is able to hold the pacifier in her mouth until she falls asleep.
