GOOD NEWS!! After many weeks of not knowing whether or not Mel’s insurance will cover her surgery… we got final approval today that they will be paying as IN NETWORK at 100%!! She got a special exception made from her HR Dept with her company since they are self-funded. We are ECSTATIC! All we will have to pay is her out of pocket max of $1,500.00, and then they will pay at 100%.

We have been SO nervous about getting this approved and finding out how this will be covered. The auth is approved too. So, we are set. We are waiting on that approval letter to be sent to us. Mel talked to her HR Dept today and this is how she found out about the approvals.

Now, we have to book airline tickets and a hotel room!!! This is all coming together so smoothly… it’s almost scary! I keep waiting for a ball to drop. So far, we’ve been pretty lucky. Luckily, we are knowledgeable of insurance and made sure all of the insurance issues were resolved prior to surgery because we do not want to be stuck with $160K medical bill!
