Hey guys! I think of the 3 of you often, especially as another school year starts.  I can't believe it's been a year already.  I'm sure you wonder how you survived a whole year, each day just putting one foot in front of the other must be a huge effort.  I just want you to know that I carry Melissa in my heart and I smile every time I think of her calling me "ketchup". I will never, never forget her. My love to you all!!!!!

Dear Jim and Marianne.  I am so glad to hear your move went well.  I still pray for you often.  Marianne you had mentioned on one of our "bump into each other" at Ralphs that you knew my pastors daughter Daisy Love as she had been in the hospital many times with Melissa.  She also passed away in February.  I picture her and Melissa having a blast together in heaven.

God Bless you both!!

Jim and Marianne, so glad you are posting updates about what's going on. Would love to say "hi" if you are planning an open house somewhere. Will never forget Melissa and the joy she shared with everyone she met. So sad Tanya missed ya, but at least you spoke with her. I'll get some of the old gang to come see ya to... Amy, Lauren, Suzanne, Cindy, Diana.

So lovely to hear from you! As you probably know, our June recital dance, "Teach Me How To Shimmy" was dedicated "to Melissa, the best shimmier EVER!"  Not a Tuesday class goes by where I don't think of her dozens of times and wish that she was there, but feel so very grateful that she was.  I would love to be a part of anything you keep doing.  She will forever be in my heart.

Hi Marianne, I just saw you out this morning while you were walking. The words didn't come to me when I saw you but I want you to know that I am so touched by how you and your husband spent the last months with Melissa.  It is wonderful and amazing for you all to have the memories that you have.  I had no idea until after she passed that there was the parade for her.  I watched the video of the princess parade that was posted and I couldn't hold back the tears.  She is such a beautiful and sweet girl.  How wonderful for her to have such a happy and special day.  It seemed perfect.  I remember seeing you in July 2010 at the CHLA cafeteria.  We were both there with our children.  I felt so bad for all the pain and difficulty that you and Melissa were having to go through.  You all put up such a fight over these last 2 years.  You should be proud of everything. You are a wonderful mother and I am so happy to know you.  Please take care of yourself and be comforted by the wonderful memories that you and your family share with her.  You are truly an inspiration to me.  I hope to see you soon, sending my love to your family, Laura Groller

Dear Marianne and Jim,

Thank you for sharing your beautiful daughter and your journey with us.  Melissa was a great teacher.  I think she was an old soul with a definite purpose, to remind us all to open our hearts and minds.  And to not take ourselves too seriously. That we are all taco heads and blueberry butts and "to get over it".

The world is a better place and we are all better people just for having the privledge to know Melissa and both of you.

Love and blessings,

Wendy
