Meleah got to come home on Tuesday. The past round of chemo with etopiside and a high dose of Ifasfomide went as well as I guess it can. Meleah had both drugs each day for 5 days. She had to go to the bathroom about every hour the whole time. That's because Ifasfomide can be hard on the bladder and so she had to have a lot of fluids. She will get a GCSF shot each evening for 14 days. GCSF helps the body make more white blood cells. Her red blood cell counts were low when we checked out on Tuesday and she has to go back in on Friday to have her counts re-checked. We hope she will not need a transfusion, but we have been told all along that it is not a matter of if, but when.

In the meantime, Meleah is feeling better. It's nice to see the sparkle in her eye and big smile again. Her appetite is good and she continues to do well with physical therapy. I suspect she will check back in and update you tomorrow.
