Journal

Megan is feeling better today.  She still woke up with a very low grade fever (a little over a 100) but is feeling pretty good in general and keeping her food down.  She's just been playing on the computer most of the day today.  She would really like to go swimming, if I'd let her.  Her temperature is now just a little over 99, and that's without any meds so I think she is definitely on the mend.  No complaints of headaches today!

Her blood counts look really good.  Her white blood cell count is 5.5, hemoglobin is 12, and her platelets are 213,000 (fine, but a bit lower than usual for her).  Her ANC is 4330.  So that is good news.  That doesn't really tell us anything about her central nervous system, but we'll just keep thinking positive thoughts in that arena.  Of course, along with diligent watch over any symptoms she may have.

Thanks for all of the positive thoughts and prayers since yesterday.  Sorry if I worried you.  All day long yesterday I went from being convinced she was relapsing to being convinced it's just a virus.  Today I'm much more on the it's a virus side of things, with just a few scary thoughts creeping in periodically.  Gotta love the psychoness that cancer brings...

I hope everyone has a Happy 4th of July!  With luck Megan will be feeling good and we'll all be swimming and then enjoying the lovely Rockville fireworks! :-)
