My name is Kristie Doyle and I just got done watching the Dr Phil show where I saw you Kate and your families story! I wanted to reach out and let you know I am thinking and praying for you all! I also wanted to share a story with you guys about my non profit called Mission Kristie Cares! I started this non profit for a friend Kayla who was diagnosed with stage for Noreaublastoma. She fought long and hard and kicked cancers butt. Her mom was on this site as well and would update us if you want to read her story search Kayla Mcbride! Keep on smiling your family is so BEAUITFUL!!
Mission Kristie Cares was formed out of the goodness of the heart of a young woman that was inspired to help sick children and their families. After the young child of a family friend was diagnosed with cancer, Kristie was asked to cut her long hair in an effort to make the side affects of hair loss from chemotherapy treatment less traumatic. After this experience, Kristie felt called to use the God given talents she was given, to provide haircutting services to other sick children in need. She felt that this was a service she could offer to help make the lives of others just a little more bearable at a time when things in their life were so critical. It was from this experience that the idea of Mission Kristie Cares was developed.
The organization was formed to offer complimentary haircutting services to inpatient and outpatient children, that will undergo cancer treatment; or who are being treated for other illnesses or surgical procedures that require an extended stay in a hospital or home/care facility. Complimentary services are also extended to the parents and siblings of the children. Services may also be offered to adults in need, who will undergo chemotherapy treatment. Mission Kristie Cares stylist team visits the Ronald McDonald house of Philadelphia the first Monday of every month along with visiting Children's Hospital of Philadelphia quarterly!
A message from Kristie,
Kayla taught me so much about life throughout her journey. She taught me that life is a gift and to always remember to count your blessings not your troubles and that if you have your health you have everything. Kayla was a fighter till the end... Jamie Grace A Christian singer wrote a song about Kayla called fighter you can search the song on YouTube Jamie Grace is an amazing person!
"I feel like God is laying down a golden brick path
In front of us we're behind him so we can't see where it's going but it's okay because we can see who is laying it"
kayla Mbride 4 hours later after hearing she had cancer.
If you or your family need anything please reach out! As I'm sure many people have been wanting to help you, I would love to help you in some way! Lots of prayers and love are being sent your way!
Lots of of love,
Mission Kristie Cares
