This journey, that your family has been on ,has been agony to watch but beautiful to see at the same time.  As a mother I cannot begin to imagine the emotional roller coaster that you all have been riding but as a believer, who has been quietly looking on and praying, I can tell you that the weight of the steps each of you have taken, have left a mark...a deep impression...you have set before us a trail to follow that leads to the feet of Jesus.  What a gift you have to be so utterly transparent in His presence and with your words.  Some might be tempted to say that cancer strips us of so much that makes us who we are, but I would say that you have in fact chosen to allow only the unnecessary to fall away.  Your total dependence upon The Lord in fully intact and in a world that is full of people who are looking for, and longing for, something (someone) to believe in, your faith isn't going unnoticed.  I will continue to pray for your sweet daughter's health, for her complete healing, and for her life to continue to be a light that shines God's love for others to see.  I will pray for her tender heart to be strengthened by The One who knows each wound and sees each scar.  And I will pray for any fear or doubt to be replaced with confidence and expectant joy at what is to come.  May He bless you abundantly as He keeps you close to His side.

The other night on the news we saw a young woman (high school age) who had cancer as a child. She went on to learn more about her cancer & help doctors research. I think about Kate & the other children I know with cancer, and esp brain cancer, and wonder if they too will work on cures.

This was good news & I am grateful.

Safe travels; good reports.

With love,
Joan
ps: the photo of Kate & her puppy is so great! Such sweet punims! (Punim is face in Yiddish. Of Kate, a "shayna punim" or sweet or pretty face.)

Oh, that beautiful smile!  Kate just gets more and more beautiful!  I am so thankful for answered prayers in the good news you shared, and my prayers continue for the return of things lost during the battle.  We know that 'With God, all things are possible', and I pray very specific and BIG prayers to our AWESOME God!
I was so touched by the doctor's wonderful attention given to Kate and her concerns and how he spoke so directly to her to encourage her.  That she left the appointment singing made my heart sing!
That puppy is adorable!  I know that Kate gets lots of puppy kisses every day, and those are some of the best kisses in the world!
Love to the entire McRae Team!

I was thinking about Kate and her journey, the journey followed by so many people around the country, filled with hope and prayer.  Uniting people from all walks of life to pray for Kate and your family may be a secondary purpose of the journey.  Seeing the outpouring of love and concern for all of you lifts my spirits in a different way and reminds me of God's goodness.  You are always in my prayers.

Animals can make a big difference in the lives of children, and for adults for that matter.  But I remember always having a dog when I was growing up and if a day didn't go well, that dog heard all about it --he would seem to listen and I would end up feeling much better.  Maybe the surgery on her leg will be a blessing in disguise if she does have to have it.  She is so beautiful - no brace can hide that lovely face.  She has had so much and such serious issues that tears are certainly warranted.  We would all wipe them away with love if we could.  We love her and pray for that sweet smiling little girl.  Carolyn
