Yes- this past year or so has surely been a challenge for us. However, since a year ago, with Maya's diagnosis of neuroblastoma we have met some amazing people and benefited from so many kind souls of old friends, new friends, and some great organizations who have helped us get to this year. And since that time, Maya has become quite a local star. She has been on a cover of a magazine, a mailer, she has her own website, and most recently a commercial! She also has become a champ and won a medal- all the while fighting hard to beat her cancer. On of our recent trips to New York, another great organization came to the Ronald McDonald House called Songs of Love and I got the chance to talk to some of these great volunteer musicians....turns out they are volunteer songwriters, musicians, and singers who write and record a personalized song for any kid undergoing a serious illness. So now, MAYA HAS HER OWN SONG!
