A response, not a request

No surprise, this community continues to show its true nature.  A number of you have requested information regarding how to contribute  monetarily, either to honor Max or to defray the family's medical costs and other expenses related to this event.  In the first case, the family earlier established the "Love to the Max" youth ministry fund at Faith Lutheran Church, in lieu of receiving memorial service flowers.  In relation to helping the family with medical, travel and other costs, a family friend has already taken the initiative to set up the "Pray for Max" fund at

Following is the complete information on each fund:

"Love to the Max"
Intended to support youth ministry through Faith Lutheran Church in Flower Mound, TX.  Funds will be held and managed by the church.  If you would like to support this ministry, please clearly mark your check with "Love to the Max" in the memo line and send your contribution to:

Faith Lutheran Church
6000 Morris Road
Flower Mound, TX 75028

"Pray for Max"
When I was told about this fund by Kristie Seibert, whose daughter plays volleyball with Zoey, she said, "Many people have asked how can we help with this unexpected tragedy?"  She added, "With this unexpected tragedy, come unexpected expenses.  Therefore, a fund has been set up (by Carol Longacre) to help cover these costs for the Schwolert Family."

Please click this link to learn more about that fund at gofundme.

Please feel no obligation.  Responses to Max's death have and will continue to take many forms.  All are valid and all are valued deeply by his family.  These funding mechanisms are not intended to be a request for financial support or contributions.  Instead, they are a response to those who have asked for a way to invest some portion of their resources in ways that are of lasting value.

Give as you feel led - in prayer, in service, in love

Phil Schwolert
