Max and I recently took a "field trip" from Las Vegas to San Diego where I attended a conference. The trip, in a Beetle convertible, was a big success. Max was great - he did well as a traveler and we had a good time, met some old friends, ate some good food- of course- and visited some beautiful places from the ocean to botanical gardens.  His conversation was good and getting better all the time.  While he had a few understandable aches and pains, overall, he enjoyed our road trip and everyone was quite taken with him and his progress. That big brain and resilient spirit were in evidence for the entire trip.
