Hey, Max: Fred and I are so happy to hear you've got your appetite back--and that you're walking more. It must be great to get outside into that sun-spangled garden at the rehab center. And it's so terrific that old friends are showing up to play music--and even barbecue in a hailstorm.
You've come such a long way.
Much love and affection,
Sherry

Well Max, we are so delighted that your last critical step went so well.  We heard through the grape vine that you were taking phone calls.  On Katie's advice we will wait to call until you are out of ICU but we'll be thinking positive thoughts and want you to know we are rooting for you.  This is such an incredible journey you are taking  and we  admire your courage and Setu's, too.  Anticipating your next positive step, our  thoughts and prayers are with you all the way.

Maxel  - impressive win by our Alma Mater. GO BADGERS. Wish I had been there to watch the game with you but Emma tells me you high-fived her when they won. Enjoyed our conversation last night - more words, more phrases, more understanding. You are getting there, bud.

Maaaaaax, simply a reminder that the Badgers play Baylor tonight @ 5:47 your time.  TBS.  Heard you've committed basketball apostasy and have renounced the Celtics in favor of the Clippers;)  Chris Paul pulled a Bill Ginivan and went 0-12 last night! However, because of Doc,  I still like them coming out of the West.
Go Bucky!!!!!

We went and visited Max each day for the 4 days we were in Las Vegas.  Three days we took our small children.  They made Max smile and Setu even commented that he liked looking at them and watching what they were doing.  They all said hi and bye to him and played by the side of the bed.  The first day Max spoke a few words to us.  Each subsequent day we saw progress as Max tried to string more words together, even if the sentences did not come out clearly.  He is following the basketball games and still does not think that highly of the Clippers!  He definitely shows his sense of humor is alive and well with his smile, eyes and forehead movements.  The care of his sister Toni and beloved wife Setu are remarkable in every way.
