Matthew’s Story

Welcome to our CaringBridge site. We've created it to keep friends and family updated. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement during this time when it matters most.  Matthew Fleurant was flown to St. Joseph's Hospital on October 7th.  His injuries were sustained due to an automobile accident where the vehicle he was riding in rolled several times.  His injuries diagnosed shortly after arrival were: skull fracture, neck fracture, brain swelling, broken teeth, lung bruising, and compound fracture of both femurs.  More injuries may be discovered as more tests can be done.  All of his internal organs are fine.  His eyes are responsive and all limbs can be moved.

Matthew is home!

Matthew went home yesterday.  His siblings were soo excited to see him they were squealing!  Matthew has mixed emotions.  He is happy to be home but frustrated with his limitations, pain, and having to take medicine.  He was finally able to sleep in bed with mom and dad.  Now it's just a matter of taking it one day at a time and follow-up appointments.  I added 2 pics- one just before leaving the hospital and one from him home at last.
