Sid,Francine&Family,

I came to this site Feb.3,2009 to leave a message and the words just would not come.Francine after receiving your email today about "Matthew's Song" by Chasing Canaan, I just had to share this with others that might come to Matt's Site. This group wrote this song for Matt before he passed away and sang it at a fundraiser for Matt and also at Matt's funeral. They have now recorded the song and it will soon be released on their new CD. You can go to: www.myspace.com/chasingCANAAN on the right side of the page is a list of songs, click on "Matthew's Song",turn your volume up and enjoy this wonderful tribute to Matt. This just made my day and as I look at the picture of Matt above I know he is smiling down from heaven and so proud of his beautiful song that will touch so many people just as he has.I love all of you and I pray each day for you all. May we all continue to tell the wonderful story of Matt and his faith and strength so others might be brought to Christ through Matt. God Bless all of you. Love Ya,

Sweet Madelyn and Family,

I too have days when tears come to my eyes and when this happens ,I stop and close my eyes and picture Matt completely healed, being with his heavenly father and doing all the things that he always wanted to do .When I open my eyes I smile and think of the wonderful memories that Matt left us with. Madelyn, there is nothing wrong in crying ,for this is God's way of us cleansing and releasing feelings that must be released. I also feel deeply that Matt will always be around spiritually and I have had several things that have happened that have proven this to be true. I just love the picture of Matt on this page. When I look at it, I smile because his smile is one that makes others do the same. I know Matt would want us all to try to be happy and also God knows that we will have moments that we will struggle ,but God will be there for us and guide us that we might use the wonderful life and story of Matt to help others. I look forward to seeing the updates on the memorial for Matt.I will pray for all of you every day and night and if you need someone to talk to please call me. I love all of you very much.

Hello Campbell family! I just read the last entry here and was struck by the fact that all of you are trying to stay 'strong' for the other. You should NOT be trying to 'stay strong'! Cry with each other! The very tears you are withholding, the words telling EXACTLY how you feel, the choking, breathless, 'empty' feelings you are keeping to yourself; and therefore feeling a frightening pressure that you are somehow lost, and will never make it through each day.......much less the rest of your life! PLEASE! GIVE and TAKE from each other. We are ALL in this world by the Grace of God and without Him, none of us would 'make' it! Use Him in a way that would 'Bless' His Name! Tell each other exactly HOW you are feeling....EVERY feeling you have if you can explain it. All of us need to know that each of us is aware of the others' feelings and anguish, and then we can all relate and know that WE are not the only ones suffering the loneliness of Matthew! Begin to live the rest of your life with laughing memories of Matthew! He would NOT want to know that at this late date, you are STILL suffering and aching for him! Be happy he is out of his pain, in the arms of Jesus, laughing and singing and doing the thing he most wanted to do and be. I believe the thing we most want, and what makes us happy, is the very thing we will have in heaven! God wants us to be happy! Jesus died so we could praise and worship our God. Don't you think He will give us what makes us happy...besides worshiping Him, of course! Please forgive my bluntness and any offending words, but it is with love in my heart for ALL of you that I say LIVE for yourself!!!!

Hey, Campbell Family.... I was reading the guestbook and I started crying at my desk.So no I'm REALLY having a hard time with this as well. I just CAN'T believe he is gone. I know God has a plan for everything, and I'm really trying to ''move on''. It's so hard! Annie is doing ok., she misses him as well. We are praying for you all, and I hope the days and months get easier. I just pray that he is at peace now. Syd, I was thinking of you on father's day, I hope you had a nice day. I do have something for you and Francine and I will bring it to the house soon. I will call you as soon as possible, take care...... We love you all, Ashlee

Dear Campbell Family,

We are keeping you in our prayers daily. Joe wants you to know that as he works outdoors most of the time he is a bird watcher too. We believe that God does let our loved ones give us signs and I am sure the new birds that have appeared are messengers from Matt. Joe often talk of him and his wonderful smile. Never saw Matt when he was not smiling. And as you friend wrote maybe that is one of the things Matt leaves us with is to smile every day and make someone else smile with you. Matt would like that.

This weekend Joe said at the sudden death of Tim Russet that he only knew two people who always had a smile on their face all the time and that was Tim and Matthew.

Keep SMILING!!!! We love you all.

Dear Madeline & Family

I thought about your Dad yesterday

and prayed for his peace as well as all

of you. Matthew will always be

remembered and he is now watching

down on all of you and smiling bigger

than ever!! Just continue to pray

for God's loving arms to surround

you with peace and understanding and

He will give it to you-- it will just

take time. I know James & I still

miss Bubby so much, but do know

now he has a healed body and in

Heaven as a Saint. His work and

inspiration was done here on earth

and he had suffered long enough. So

that is how we get through everyday.

Life is good and we accept loss through

our faith in God. It is not easy but I

know God's plans for us and we have

to pray and live our lives in the present

and lift others up along the way when

they are hurting! So smile everyday

just like Matthew and peace will come

Have a wonderful day and make someone else's day wonderful!!!

Y'all need to come over and swim

I know Lillian would have a good

time. You are welcomed all the time!!

We have all the kid's toys and floats

for the pool-- so come and enjoy!!

Dear Campbell Family,

I wanted you to know that even though I don't know you or your family, I know have known Paul Cummings for many years, and he is a good friend of mine. He had shared Matthew's story with me several months ago, and I have never forgotten it. I now also know a 3 month old little boy, Kai Valdes, who is also on this same Caring Bridge site, who is currently going through heart surgery as well, and he will have a long road ahead of him as well, as he continues to fight for his life. I know this website is so wonderful for helping the famlies to stay connected to their loved ones, and I hope it has brought strength to your family during this time. I wanted your family to know that I still continue to pray for God's supernatural strength for your whole family as the Lord helps you through this incredibly tough time in your lives. God never gives us more than we can handle, and I told Paul when I found out that Matthew had died, that God did finally heal Matthew, however, He chose to heal him by taking him home to Heaven. You can have peace in knowing that he is now being lovingly cared for by his Heavenly Father for all of eternity. May God continue to pour out His love and mercy on your entire family, as you continue to keep Matthew's memory alive!

God Bless all of you!

Dear Sid, Francine, Madelyn, & Heather,

The verse was absolutely beautiful and perfect for Matt!! I am so glad you shared it with everyone that loves Matt. Matt IS beautiful and perfect and is in Heaven just running and laughing and having a good time. I know he is talking to everyone and sharing the love he has for his family and friends. I think of Matt each and every day and my heart just weeps when I think of what his family is going through without Matt's precious smile and his chatter of just life itself. He was such a charming young man that won the heart of everyone he met. My heart aches for him and his enthusiastic joy of life itself. Yes, we ALL miss Matt and will FOREVER but we know that his body is now perfect and he will not hurt ever again. I love his new picture that was posted that shows his contagious smile. You can't help but smile just at the thought of Matt. He was an amazing child and has an amazing family that loves him with every being in their body. God will get us through the loss of Matt but we will NEVER forget him. He will live on in our hearts FOREVER. I am so blessed to have been able to share the time I had with Matt and fell in love with him at first sight. How could anyone that met Matt not have loved him? He just made your heart melt when you were around him. I am so glad my granddaughter, Lillian, was able to have Uncle Matt. He loved her so much and she loved him just as much. I pray that The Lord gives us the strength to live each day the way Matt would want us to live. Live life to the fullest - Matt did!! I miss you, Matt. I love you and your family and I know in my heart that you are in the arms of Jesus and you want us to be okay with that. Francine, as a mother, my heart bleeds for you. Sid, as a father, my heart bleed for you. Madelyn & Heather, as sisters, my heart bleeds for you two. Matt had THE BEST!!! God bless you. With much, much love - Carolyn Davis

Sid, Francine, Madelyn and Heather,

The verse is most perfect and so very beautiful. Today marks 2 months since Matt entered heaven.Physically Matt is gone , but spiritually and in memories he will always be around. Guardian Angels come in many forms ,especially birds and butterflies. The day after Matt entered heaven I had a visit from a very bright red cardinal and every day since (weather permitting) he comes and now he is bringing a pretty little female friend with him. They are so precious, the male will make all of the other birds go away from the feeder so the female can eat. He will gently pick up a sunflower seed and put it in her mouth.I say to myself "What a gentlemen you are, just like Matt".They put a smile on my face on days that are sometimes sad and hard to get through.I do know dreams come true, because I had a dream about Matt and in it he said that he had a new friend in heaven and her name was Julie and they would be visiting me.Since the dream, both birds come now and what a show they put on.I have no idea who Julie is, but she must have been a very beautiful girl ,because this little female cardinal is very pretty. Sometimes we want a sign from God ,that all is alright and we tend to look for something big or extravagant when it is right there in plain sight ,like 2 sweet little red birds. Thank You God for Guardian Angels and signs from heaven especially on those days that we need them the most.God Bless you sweet family and know that I pray for all of you everyday several times a day.I am only a call away. I love all of you so very much!

Love Ya,
