My Story

This site has been created to keep friends and family updated about my brother, Mark Briscoe (on left in photo), who was diagnosed at age 27 in October of 2007 with desmoplastic small round blue cell in his abdominal cavity. He and his family - Valrae Briscoe (mom), his girlfriend (Karen), his nephew (Neal) and myself his sister, Ramona, all reside in Roseville, California.

Hi Everyone,

Guess it's about time for an update. I'm pretty much settled here in Redmond. I have a few more things to do but I am being lazy about doing them. I've got my bedroom all decorated and it's nice to have walls painted in a beautiful color I got to pick. And my brother Bruce painted for me. Weather is finally starting to get nice. But boy does the wind blow here all the time and allergies are terrible.

I'm missing my Markee. Some days are worse then others. I still have visions of his last day and the pain is unbearable. I need to grasp the reality that he's not suffering anymore. But it still hurts. I still can't believe all this happened to my Baby. It's all still so fresh in my mind. It will be 4 months on the 24th.

Ramona is having a tough time also. She's in Sacramento and has to deal with seeing places that remind her of her brother all the time. Neal is doing okay and I haven't heard from Karen since I left Sacramento.

Donna wants me to tell you all "Hello". She always has words of encouragement for me. She's a wonderful sis-in-law. She also has more patience then any person I know. Putting up with me and my brother everyday. :)  Trust me, it ain't easy! We can be difficult at times. But we all love one another. I love being here.

My heart, thoughts and prayers are with all of you. Those of you still fighting this horrible cancer keep fighting the fight. Stay strong and sending all of you hugs.

Valrae
