I wanted to pop in and let everyone know that Marisa has had another good week! Her surgical site is still healing, but other than some itching and maybe a little bit of the sterile strip pulling at her skin, she hasn't complained.
She's hoping that sterile strip will come off soon, and it looks like it will. This is the last full week of Kindergarte
n. We had a pizza party at school today, followed by an ice cream social. She'll have school Monday & Tuesday of next week...then it's off to 1st grade.
Tomor
row is our 1st clinic visit without the port. Labs shouldn't be a big deal as Marisa get labs via her arm often. She doesn't like the needle poke, but usually we get a really good lab tech & it's over before she knows it. Sometimes, not so much but will be praying for easy. We'll also be praying for *normal* counts!!!! (You pray too)
It will be a little sad as it will be our last visit with our favorite Dr. G. He's been with us since day 1, I'm very thankful for him, but he must move on to help other patients and a new hospital...
we wish him the best of luck. He was truly a blessing to us and I can only hope that we luck up and get someone as compassiona
te and thoughtful as he has been with Marisa over the past 3 years.
***Pr
ayer request*** please visit another CB kid, Kyle, who is really having a difficult time post transplant.
http://www.caringbridge.org/co/kylel He really needs to be lifted up, as well as his mother. He's a fighter, I know he can win this battle.
