So today was really cool. I brought Maggie's teacher from the Zen Center to Middleboro, because he wanted to learn more about Maggie and be part of a speech therapy session, which worked out very well. Maggie was very responsive and answered lots of questions, and said that she liked meditating and that she wanted to meditate today.
Which was the plan. So Myoung Haeng, the monk from the Zen Center, met with 6 residents and he taught them a basic breathing exercise and we meditated for 15 minutes. The participants had a chance to introduce themselves and tell us why they were at Middleboro and they were very open about their stories. It was lovely. They asked Myoung Haeng if he would come back to teach them, and he and I decided that I would bring him to Middleboro rather than bringing Maggie to the Zen Center. So we are hoping that we can develop a community of meditators, a 'sangha" at Maggie's home. I am so happy because I think that this kind of community will be very beneficial for everyone involved. I am so happy that a community may develop there. And that Maggie can be part of it. She says she enjoys meditating and wants to do it everyday, but I think it helps to have others to meditate with.
Time for sleep.
Love, Nancy
