Margaret Romph's Journal
Written Dec 9, 2013 10:52pmGood Evening,
We paced for 30 minutes tonight and I believe it went well. I could feel it working on both sides. Margaret seems to be pretty positive about it so I hope it continues. We also made the decision today to hold off on Therapy until after the first of the year because of so much going on.. They had actually called me and was going to talk to me about it with the Holiday's so it ended up working out for them as well as us.
Now to finish getting ready for the weekend. We are so excited to see our family. It sadly will be the first one without my grandpa here. Although he is in a much better place. He gets to spend Christmas with Jesus & my grandma Margaret this year so that is pretty awesome. The holiday's are hard when you have lost loved ones.
Please continue to pray that the pacing continues to go well with Margaret, Also I keep forgetting to mention we still have the sore on her head which is looking better. We had it cleared up and then it came back. I believe part of it is she has outgrown her chair so we are working on that as well. Please continue to pray for our other CB families.
Have a great evening and God Bless you all.

Well pacing has been started and going well I believe. Not really sure what to expect but I can say that when she is on the pacer her arms, chest and shoulders are moving from the pacing. I hope that means that the nerves are stimable. I am so excited for this journey but nervous at the same time. Tomorrow begins day 5 and we get to add 15 more minutes on her time. So she will be pacing for 30 minutes a day. It goes up 15 minutes every 5th day. She seems to be dealing with it well. We had one day where she said she didn't want to do it and I told her we didn't have a choice. So please continue to pray for this process.
We are now getting ready for our family Christmas this weekend. We all have so much fun and it is great to visit with everyone.
Margaret is counting the days down until Christmas and we get to go see Pa Paw. I asked Pa Paw if he had enough room for her this year because My O My she turned in a huge list to Santa this year. Definatley won't be getting everything on her list so hopefully she forgets some of it. LOL She wants everything she see's. However her big things she wants is a bed, stroller, and high chair for her baby's. I found a neat thing today for her. It is a pink & purple wheel chair for her dolls. I think we will be playing lots of baby dolls in our future. But that is just a couple of things she wanted this year.
Well Ms. Priss is spitting for me to come in the room so I better run for now. I hope you all have a wonderful week, stay warm, be safe and God bless you all.
Please continue to pray for the pacer to regenerate her nerves so that she is able to get off the vent. Pray she stay's healthy during this winter season.
Have a great night and God Bless.
Written Dec 7, 2013 12:57amGood Evening/Morning,
I know it has been a while since we updated. We have been swamped with the holiday's as I am sure everyone is.
We hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving. And everything is going well for everyone getting ready for Christmas or which ever Holiday your family celebrates.
I have most of our decorations up but not all yet. It is still a work in progress. I have been sewing a lot lately. We have made a project for Margaret's class which has been fun to listen to her while I have talked about it. We have been making Santa's underwear to stuff so when ever I say it she say's mom you said "Underwear" LOL
Our Thanksgiving was very busy as I had a friend come up from Oklahoma and he and Eric installed our generator we finally was able to get a second time around. I can now sleep better at night and not stress out so much worrying about whether or not we will loose power.
Margaret is caught up with school from being gone. I am so glad. However I am having issues with the teacher and priorities with some things with Margaret. But we will see how it goes. Please pray for the situation.
Now about the exciting stuff. We finally got to start pacing yesterday and she handled it very well. We only are pacing for 15 minutes a day for the first 4 days and then increase by 15 minutes every 5 days. As exciting as it is it will still be awhile before we know if it will work or how well it is working. right now we are just working on regenerating the nerve she is NOT off the vent at all during this time. That will come later. We are seeing her arms jerk with it so that tells me it is working but I am not a dr so I don't know. About every 4 weeks we turn in a report and they should be able to tell if it is working. So please continue to pray.
We started therapy 2 weeks ago and it is going slow only because she was not released until yesterday on all therapies due to surgery so now we get to work hard which she probably will not like.
Prayer concerns-I would like to ask you to pray for me as I ended up in the ER this week with what I felt was chest pains. The did an ekg and it was fine and the blood work came back as not heart. Which is good since my mom has lots of heart problems. But they do believe I have Pluresy. All I can tell you in I hurt but the medicine should kick in soon. Also say some prayers for my mom, while we were out East she fell times and then went to ER and they didn't really find anything but now they have found a chip in her thumb. Her foot is in a boot and her Gout is acting up in her good foot. She is falling apart.
Please continue to pray hard for Margaret that this pacing works for her and all of her therapy will help her get stronger. I know I am praying hard for her.
Please pray for all of our CB families. May God Bless you all and have a great night.
