My Story

Our story is all about a beautiful 8 year old girl named Makenzie Michelle Driever. Makenzie was diagnosed with severe aplastic anemia on May 27, 2008. Aplastic anemia is a rare life threatening illness in which the bone marrow fails to produce enough blood cells to sustain life. But by the grace of God we will overcome this disease.

Happy 4th of July!!

I finally took the time to post some of the pictures from Makenzie's Make A Wish trip to Hawaii.  It was an incredible trip.  It was really hard to narrow down which pictures to post.  We had so much fun.  I can't thank the Make A Wish Foundation enough.  It was a great week!  It was a week that we didn't even think about Makenzie's illness.  We just enjoyed our time there.  We let her do things that she had not been able to do in the past year.  She got to go in the ocean, and we didn't even worry about the water.  Her doctors have said only chlorinated water (like swimming pools).  But they cleared her for this trip.  So we just enjoyed every minute of it.  It was a magical week when we put all of the medical stuff to the back of our minds and just had fun.

I have spent all day uploading these pictures. (I really wish we had high speed internet out here)  So I am going to go make the kiddos some lunch.  If you have a minute take a look at all the pics.   Please take a moment to remember our servicemen and women on this 4th of July.  Enjoy your holiday and spend time with your family.  And most of all, give thanks to God that we live in America and have the freedom to Praise Him!

God Bless,
Lisa
