Maggie Lee’s Story
On July 12, 2009, while the FBC Shreveport Youth were en route to Passport Youth Camp, the church bus had a tire blowout in Meridian, Ms, and rolled several times. Maggie Lee was thrown from and trapped under the bus. Maggie Lee was at Batson Children's Hospital in the Pediatric Critical Care Unit for 3 weeks before ultimately dying on August 2, 2009.
Long time no post. As incredible as it seems, it has been nearly half of Maggie Lee's short life since the accident which prompted this site occurred. And also prompted thousand upon thousands of your finest prayers on her behalf.
We are deeply in your debt because we feel that the good happening around the world tomorrow on the 6th Maggie Lee for Good Day would never have happened without them.
Your prayers that Maggie Lee would live were not answered. This truth has forever shaped our lives. Not a day goes by that I would not take her back in any way, shape or form. But I have to believe that with the myriad of prayers if life down here would've been the best thing for her then it certainly would have happened.
I am am also led to believe that your collective prayers for a miracle for our daughter are still being answered in the good her life has sparked in the world. There is something within the human spirit which longs heartily for a happy ending. For thousands, that happy ending is you.
There is no other explanation for why Shreveport Mayor would've declared Oct. 29 Maggie Lee for Good Day or why water wells would be dug in Africa in her name or even, get this: the cast & crew of Broadway's Wicked would do a Maggie Lee for Good Project.
So thank you for your prayers so long ago. We serve a mysterious God who answers every prayer in His own way and time for His glory.
So please pray on. For those you love, for those in need, for our hurting world. No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind can conceive what God has in store for those who love Him.
"Because I knew you I have been changed for good."
