All Scans Clear!!
Written Apr 5, 2012 6:56pm
Today we got the results from my scans and as Dr. Yu said, "Everything looks great!" The prayers worked, once again. This is a big milestone because I am now two years post treatment and still cancer-free. We will go back for another check up in six months.
Reminder: The Curesearch Walk is coming up. It is next Saturday, April 14 at 9 am in Audubon Park. We hope to see you there! If you can't join us on Saturday, you can go to www.curesearchwalk.org/neworleans and join or donate to Team Lakeview. Our goal for the number of members is 100 and we currently have 91 members. Our fundraising goal is $5,000.00 and we have raised $4,475.00. Seeing all the kids going through treatment in the clinic proves how much CureSearch needs funds for more research to cure all pediatric cancer. Please help us reach our goals!
Have a Happy Easter and thank you for your prayers!
Written Mar 22, 2012 8:37pmYes, it's been a while since I've had an update but that's a good thing - no news is good news! Maggie has her next set of scans on Wednesday, April 4th and we'll get the results at her appointment on the 5th. Please remember us in your prayers over the next few weeks. Maggie has been doing really well. She continues to do well in school and is enjoying a normal, uneventful 8th grade year!
We have formed a team for the CureSearch Walk again this year - Team Lakeview. We've joined with Harrison Bond's team and are looking forward to a wonderful day. The walk will be on Saturday, April 14th at 9am in Audubon Park. We'd love to have you join us if you can. It's a great event that pays tribute to all the children in our area who are battling cancer, have survived their battle and the angels who are now at peace. Below is a link to the walk home page if you'd like to join Team Lakeview or make a donation.
Thanks for checking in with us and we hope to see you on April 14th. I'll be sure to post an update after our appointment on the 5th.
All Scans Clear!!

Maggie had an appointment with her oncologist today and everything is "great" (to quote Dr. Yu). Her MRI is clear and her blood counts are normal. We come back in 6 months for the next round of tests. At that point it will be 2 years since Maggie finished her treatment. That is a big milestone. They will be doing some more extensive blood work to make sure things like her thyroid and reproductive system are functioning normally. We will also go to see an endocrinologist in January to check on her growth. But for today we will be grateful and happy for a great doctor visit. Our prayers have been answered once again. Thank you for your prayers and support - it's what has continued to get us through this journey!
