Hey everyone! I'm sorry that it has been a while since I've updated this, but actually there hasn't been much to report. Madison had her annual checkup with her cardiologist and he is very pleased with her! She weighs almost 39 pounds now, and her oxygen saturation was at 90. He said that the Fontan was working exactly the way it should. We still have a heart catheterization to close the hole in the gortex they placed, but we are still a couple of years away from that. So, all in all she's perfect...which she will tell anyone that will listen. She has problems in the heat. She just seems to wilt in front of your eyes. We have to keep her hydrated and cool. Which means that with the crazy hot days we've had, we spend a lot of time inside. Madison will be turning 5 on Friday the 25th. I just can't believe it. Where does the time go?
We are settled here in Albemarle...for now. We decided to rent a house for the year so we could get a better idea of where we wanted to live. So we are looking at houses, and will hopefully be moving for the last time next year (fingers crossed). Madison is loving it here. She is attending a Christian school, and actually started July 1st. We all thought it would be good for her to go to summer school to meet some other kids and be with her teacher before actual school started. It's been great. She has had no problems making new friends, of course. Her teacher said she is doing great, and that she plays with someone different everyday. Although, she has decided that she doesn't like boys (much to Lance's delight). We found a great church that we really enjoy after visiting a couple. So, we have settled right in. Sadly, there isn't a Target around or even a Mall for that matter....but it has turned out to be a blessing. Instead of spending our days shopping, we go to the park or go for walks. Lance is going to start taking Madison fishing. He finally got his Jeep Wrangler that he has always wanted, and the kids love riding in it with the top off. Will is a bundle of energy. He adores Madison, and is just lost when she is at school. Madison likes to cook, so she helps me in the kitchen all the time. Who knows, maybe she'll become a world class chef and make us all rich. Although, right now her world is centered around her dad and she wants to be a store manager too. The way she figures it, he doesn't actually DO anything, which he quickly corrects. Lance is doing great at his store. He really has a talent at running the store, and his employees love him. Well, that's about it. Our prayers for Madison continue to be answered, and we continue to be blessed.
