We met with Macey's doctor yesterday. We had stopped her maintenance chemo last Monday and by the end of the week she was starting to do better. We also are slowly reducing her meds and she is less drowsy. She hasn't had a headache in 2 days, which is a HUGE relief to all of us.
She will start her next round of chemo mid July.
This month has been crazy with 3 of the kid's birthdays (Jake turned 12 on Sunday) and trying to get caught up with all the time in Texas, end of the year parties... so things are hopefully going to be a little more low key in July.
Macey'shair is starting to come in, but she will likely lose it again with this next treatment. Last time her hair came in it was very soft, people couldn't keep their hands off of it, so she started charging people to rub her head. It was quite lucrative if I remember correctly.
We go back to Texas for scans and appointments July 22nd. Macey is still at high risk for relapse, so we continue to ask for prayers. When Pope John Paul II was shot, the bullet was miraculously "guided" around all major organs that it should have hit. We know that God can (and we know He has) chosen to heal when He desires and so we continue to hope and have faith that He knows well the plans He has for us. They are exactly what we need for our eternal soul. Character and virtue almost always grow in the midst of difficulties, so we trust in the eternal purpose of this suffering andhope in God's infinite purpose. Having said that, we still most certainly pray that if it be God's Will that we could be at the end of Macey's treatment and she could live a long holy life filled with God's grace and faith. Thank you all again for your continued support. We continue to remember in our prayers all those still in the battle for their life and all of you who no doubt have your own struggles and trials in this life where unfortunately no one escapes suffering. God Bless!!!
