left a comment over here yesterday Monica, but can't see it. So, here's my next attempt. Such a beautifully written and inspirational post this one is. You are a wise woman. I am sure that Lydia has inspired you, from what you told about her, she was an old soul. She must have given you all these beautiful insights, what a treasure. I wish you many inspirational memories of Lydia and many happy new beautiful ones with Max and Pooh...

Warm regards, Claudia x

My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family today especially Monica. I'm so thankful I had the pleasure to know Lydia, even for that short time! I know I've said this before to you but want to say this again - I think you are an amazing writer - I do think you should write that book you spoke of a few years back about your experiences through this journey with illness, death and grieving. You would bring much comfort to so many.
Love you my friend.

Hugs to you and your family today, Monica. As I read what Lydia's successes were in such a short life, I realized that some people don't accomplish such success in even a very long life. Her life was (too) short, but very sweet. She left a sweet fragrance and wonderful memories where she traveled and that is real success and a life well lived. She mattered. And she will forever matter.

Monica, my daughters and I often speak of your Lydia.  I will never understand how I got so lucky, as my daughter Lydia (also adopted from China) will celebrate ten years in remission from ALL leukemia this fall.  We remind ourselves to count our blessings every day, while passing along a prayer for "the other Lydia's family".
Hoping the years have eased your pain!
