Hi Lucas, I was just thinking about you today. About your awesomeness. And about how brave and strong you were, at such a young age. It's something I never want to forget. I hope you're having an awesome time, wherever you are. Mostly I hope you know how much your mom, dad, bro Zach, Daniel and hundreds of other close friends and family members love you and still think about you ALL the time. But so do people like me, who didn't have the privilege of knowing you better and wish they did.  xxLoen

HI
My name is Jenna and I came across your site.  Wow Lucas has touched so many lives and will continue to, and also he will continue to make a difference in all the lives he has touched and continues to touch.  He is an amazing angel  shinning down on all who he touched, liked and loved.  www.caringbridge.org/visit/champ291

Hey cuz - found myself kinda drifting off today and thinking about you, so I wanted to pop on here and, well . . . say Hi.  I miss you terribly every time the thought of you crosses my mind, but also, more and more, I'm finding myself able to smile when doing so - because I'm usually thinking back on one of the countless memories we made together, times I will cherish forever.  The fact remains - even though you went through some impossibly difficult times, and had every right in the world to be down - you never were, and thats why your legacy will always be one of positivity and determintation (and also why I will always picture you with a big smile on your face!).

Love you buddy.

Kathleen...we do not know one another personally, but we grieve for the loss of our children...your son & my grandson.  I just wanted to say that you have been so 'blessed' to have witnessed the wonderful gift from Lucas with the hawk.  I'm still waiting for mine.  Stay strong and positive...you have one very special angel.

On behalf of Lucas' family I want to thank everyone for the birthday wishes.  His birthday was celebrated just as he would have wanted - with friends and family all around.  It was a cold but otherwise beautiful, sunny day up in Sleepy Hollow, and despite the undertone of sadness we all felt, there seemed to be smiles on everyones faces, and laughter in the air - a fitting tribute to Lucas' enduring spirit and the legacy he has left with all of us.  There must have been about 40 people gathered at the cemetary, some people said a few words, Zach read a very touching poem that he'd written, and we all sung 'Happy Birthday' to Lucas.  Just as we we wrapping things up everyone noticed that seemingly out of nowhere a hawk circled above us and then perched on a branch above us for a good 5 or 10 minutes.  Sure, it could have just been a random coincidence . . . but I for one, choose to believe something else.  Afterwards, everyone went back to the house and enjoyed a Taco themed lunch while some of Lucas' favorite tunes played in the background.  All in all, a great day in his honor.

Happy Birthday cuz, I miss you, love you, and continue to be inspired by you.

Always so glad to see a post from one of our DIPG Angel CB Families.  Your Lucas was a unforgettable DIPG Warrior.  I always was anxious to read his journal.  I know his Birthday was very special......many DIPG Angels to share it.   Our lives will never be the same.  We shall miss our kids for ever.  Our battle now is to pray and support ways for a cure.
