My Story

My husband Lonnie Cook is 44 years old, we have daughters Kamryn 4 and Reily 15. Lonnie has always been the guy that meets someone and they are his friends for life. He has a great sense of humor and has more friends then you could ever ask for in 1 life time. He loves his daughters endlessly.

Lonnie had his 7th radiation treatment today. They changed his appointments to 7:50 AM every morning and it makes it difficult to get up when he is not resting peacefully at night. His pain has been better but still comes in waves, he is sweating a lot and has basically hot flashes and nausea with dry heaving. His energy level is really low and that will continue to get worst as treatment progresses. I feel blessed to have had a great Father's Day weekend with Lonnie feeling better than he has but now I beleive it will get tougher! We won't know anything for a few more weeks and I don't believe they will scan Lonnie until radiation is complete in 4 more weeks.

We continue to keep busy with Kamryn in swim lessons and starting Karate (Tyke Won Dow) soon, Reily with fastpitch every weekend and just our commitments for the summer. The busier I keep the less time I have to think. The evenings when Lonnie is suffering is the worst and I would give anything to take his pain and suffering away. No one person should have to endure what he has in the past 2 years. I continue to pray God gives me strength daily to take care of my family and for Lonnie to fight the disease with a positive outlook and know how much he is loved and needed.

There is going to be a golf tournament organized for Lonnie on August 22nd (Saturday) at Tri-City Country Club if you need further information please contact Les Splatstoesser at #551-0345.

Turn your face to the sun, and the shadows will all behind you!

God bless,
Lori
