This site has been created to help keep everyone updated on our father, Lloyd. He was in a tragic farming accident on Sunday, August 4th. If you are new to this site please start at the beginning of the journal as it will give you the best picture of how far he has come.
Please continue to send your love, prayers, positive energy, and thoughts. Our family appreciates everyone's support over the last couple months and ask for you continued prayers - Dad is on the mend but still has a long way to go!
Dad is still getting better and better each day! His walking is looking more natural, sitting is less uncomfortable, dexterity is getting much better, and even his hand-eye coordination is improving. It will probably take at least six months for his brain to compensate and get used to seeing out of only his right eye. He and my mom have switched spots at the dinner table so Dad can see everyone better. He is frustrated that writing is difficult (dexterity, vision, and coordination) because he wants to write thank you cards! Although he can walk well, he still needs a cane or scooter if he is going far or will be up for long. Dad never liked missing his lunchtime nap but now he needs 2 or 3 a day! Between naps, home therapy, visiting people, and having visitors, he and Mom are busy bees! Just in the past week and half they have gone to Mass, trustee meetings, an Engine Club luncheon, helped press apple cider, deliver milkshakes to combining farmers and they even made a trip to my house in Cuyahoga Falls to take Matthew to Boo at the Zoo!
The upcoming few weeks will only get busier as Dad is now healthy enough to travel more to doctors’ appointments and therapy sessions. My parents are loving visiting with people and getting the chance to thank everyone in person but please make sure to call to check availability. We appreciate your understanding and continued support! :)
