Hey Everyone. It is time for another update. Larry had his follow up scans done on 10/6/08 and we went to see his M.D. on 10/13/08 for results. Before we got to see the M.D. on the 13th, we were both thrown a little loop. They called us, and said that Larry had a Pulmonary Embolism (a blood clot in his lung). We went over to get another scan on 10/7 for confirmation of this. It was confirmed, so he has been started on a blood thinner called Coumadin, and I had to give him a shot once a day for 5 days of Fragmin (another type of blood thinner). OK, so we made it back to see the M.D. on the 13th. The scan results showed that all of his cancer was still gone everywhere except in his chest area and lung. The M.D. has given him 3 more weeks off, and he will start back on a new different type of Chemo on 11/3. As before, he will have 2 rounds and then be tested again, etc. This time.....each round will consist of 3 days on, and then 3 weeks off, 3 days on, and then 3 weeks off. We will be going on Mon, Tues, and Wed. I believe. Day 1 of the 3 days in a row will be a looooong treatment. Day 2 and Day 3 will be short ones. We are both ok with the results and still feel like it was a good report. We both know how far Larry has come, since March. We also still welcome any and all prayers, and support. We know that this is the ticket to complete remission. Larry is doing fantastic. He has gained most of his weight back, is much more active now, and looks really good. He hasn't gotten his hair back, but that is no big deal. It will grow back in time. We will keep you informed in the next weeks of his progress with the new treatment. Love everyone......
