Hi TJ, just read your posting and thank you for sharing an update again as it's always good hearing how things are going for you and the girls. Rita and I think of you often and will continue our prayers as we have been doing. We will especially keep you, the girls, and your family in our prayers tomorrow, as your dear Liz enjoys the start of her 3rd year in her eternal home in Heaven with Jesus and free from all pain and suffering.

Hold onto the promise given to us by God, that some day we will be reunited with our loved ones and oh what a glorious day that will be. :)

TJ, I would very much welcome getting together with you over lunch and having a good visit.

We will just have to set a date.

Love and prayers, Harlan & Rita

I have been thinking about you and Liz this weekend too, and many times throughout the past year. Liz was a remarkable woman. I am happy to have known her. I admire you, TJ, for your love and dedication to Liz, especially each day she was at Mayo. I can imagine the void of her presence is big. Thank you for sharing your heart with us. We are grieving and remembering with you. We thank God for His love and compassion and continue to remember you, Lilly, Leah and Liz's family and friends in prayer.

You're absolutely in my prayers. I pray especially for peace for you and your children. I'll keep praying that any void in their life is filled by you and God. I also pray that in any tough moments that come your way you'll meet God and feel his embrace. I also pray that you continue to see Liz within your children as they grow into images of the amazing woman that helped create them.

Words that were helpful to me once... "You don't need to get over this, you need to get through it." Those words helped me take a different perspective and eventually I finally did get through the hurt. I still feel pain and sorrow for the loss, but it's becoming part of my past and no longer my present. I found a great explanation. [1] I don't know if it'll help you at all and it's very likely you've heard it already. I just know it was the most helpful thing I've heard for loss and felt it foolish to not share.

I'm holding you and your family in my prayers. God bless you and your family!

I have started this post three times now....I wish there were the perfect thoughts or words to help you but thoughts and words don't do much.  Other than to let you know that no one has forgotten your beautiful Liz!  She was a wonderful person and we all miss her too.  Praying for God to keep you close.

Dear TJ, You and Liz had a wonderful bond together with The Good Lord that very few married couples have. Thankyou for sharing your touching story again on this one year anniversary. May the love and care that you have shown be an example to all of us. Our prayers are with you and the rest of the family.

TJ,  Liz loved you and the girls so much and you loved her and took such good care of her.  It has been a very hard year and a half on all of our family.  God in His grace has provided prayers, phone calls, cards, visits and encouraging words from family, friends and people we have never met and we appreciate it all.  May God continue to have His hand upon you and the girls.  You are a great dad.  We Love you,  Mom and Dad Westra

TJ, there isn't a day that goes by that we don't think of Liz. She will always be remembered and loved. Know that we think of you and the girls all the time and you are always in our thoughts and prayers. It was so nice to see you over the holidays. You are such an amazing Daddy to those little girls. Sending lots of love and hugs your way...Paul and Rae Anne and family
