Liza had her PET scan on Tuesday and we got the results last night. They were great: there was a COMPLETE response to the chemo with NO residual evidence of the liver metastases. This is great - much better than we could have hoped for!
We are not sure what this means for her therapy. Of course, much as we'd like to imagine it, the cancer is not gone. I may hold out some hope that it is, but realistically it is still lurking in there. So do we go off meds? Do we go onto some less-toxic maintenance chemo? Do we continue with the current regimen? Don't know. Will meet with the oncologist on Friday to determine a plan.
For now, we are happy and celebrating!
