I've been so busy over the past couple of months I've completely forgotten to do an update - sorry! But that's a sign of getting better too!

Everything has been going really well. Las Vegas was tiring but fun over Christmas and all went without any major hitches.

I started back to work at the beginning of February, part-time for the first few weeks and building up to full-time about 3 weeks ago - I've had excellent support from everyone and I really have appreciated it. Last week was a trial to see how I go being fully in-charge again - I think I coped fine! It was a lot of hours and hard-work at times, but it was good feeling useful again and that sort of tired is good, not like post-op tired! I've even been surprised how much I've improved physically the past few weeks, I can run up stairs, I don't get anywhere near as breathless and I actually felt 'normal'!

I've discovered something strange that I hadn't noticed whilst I was at home. I virtually never feel hungry - I've spent 42 years battling with diets and being able to eat for England, now I'm forgetting to eat and a couple of Ritz crakers and I'm full again. I've lost 12lbs in 3 weeks. I don't think I have to worry about malnutrition and buying size zero clothes just yet - lol! But I'm going to make an effort to eat regularly next week and mention it the next time I speak to Mia at Christie's. It would be nice if it was all okay and I could live off cakes and chocolate and never have to worry about being overweight again!

I had my first post-op CT scan a week last Thursday, Mia is on holiday until the 23rd of March so I've emailed her to ask for the results when she has them - fingers crossed the spots on my liver have gone.

Being one for a bargain I booked another Las Vegas break for mid-April - it should be quiet warm then so I might even go and sunbathe by the pool, I'm sick of having no tan - something else that has never happened before in 42 years! We've decided that now everything is looking more stable and I'm feeling a bit braver we're going to go back to having proper holidays again, so hopefully a Mexico or Dominican Republic beach holiday and a US sight-seeing holiday later in the year and maybe more adventurous early next year.
