Dear Princess Lauren,

My name is Valerie - I'm a medical student in Calgary, AB.

I saw your story, and wanted to help.I was a Child Life volunteer for some time prior to starting med school and wrote a children's book for our oncology department. The book was used by our Child Life Specialists and Art Therapists to help the kids learn about cancer and treatment. The book isn't completely done yet - we have the text written, but we are just in the process of fundraising for the illustrations/publication.

I would love to send you guys the text of the story! Lauren can make her own illustrations to go with the text (and we can send you our preliminary images). I know it's not much, but would love to offer it none the less. Some of the (preliminary) images are on our page: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/114912701/always-a-princess

Let me know if Lauren would like the story, and I will send it your way! Just pop me a message on Facebook or Kickstarter and we can get things started!

All the best,
Valerie

Hi. You don't know me but I have followed Lauren's progress on Caring Bridges since I read about her classmates going to the hospital and waving (or were they making snow angels?) so Lauren could see them from her hospital window. Having 3 daughters it pulled at my heart strings that 1) she had to go through this and 2) that you had to go through this. I've prayed for you all. I am so happy she is in remission. God's blessings to you all.

That is so exciting that you guys get to go to Paris. I am so happy for you:)  I continue to pray for Lauren and your family every day. I hope that her headaches start to fade and that she can enjoy the spring weather coming up.  Hopefully she will get to mow the lawn soon!! Take care
