Remembrance Day 2009
(this picture is a little better)
Just thought I'd share our experience of Remembrance Day with you guys. It was so very heart-warming to see all of our St. Jude friends yet so heart-wrenching to visit the memories we made with Landon...I guess the best word is BITTERSWEET! St. Jude's does a wonderful job honoring our children and we leave there knowing just how special they were to them. They also let us parents know just how special we are to them too and how we'll forever remain in their thoughts and prayers as we journey on this earth without our children. Several berieved parents spoke on the panel board, giving us much needed advice and inspiration. What a wonderful job they did! Thanks guys!
Lon and I stayed in Memphis an extra night and visited Beale Street and finally got to eat some Rendezvous ribs...not what we expected but still an experience! Sarah and Casey (Autumn's mom and dad) came to honor Autumn this year and it was really nice to spend some time with them and Miss Autumn's two Grandma's!
While we were browsing in the giftshop, we ran across Julie Dietz (Westin's Mom), just as Westin was being discharged from the hospital. Please keep him in your prayers as he endures the effects of this "brand new" humanized antibody. We all pray that this is the CURE for Neuroblastoma! You can visit his website at www.caringbridge.org/visit/westindietz.com to send love and prayers his way! I know Julie and Joel would be so happy to hear from you all.
Happy Easter!!
